Immersions
CSV Immersions are student-led experiential learning trips with the goal of exposing students from across disciplines to a variety of cross-sector solutions to pressing societal issues in different locations across the United States. Join us to learn from and engage with peers, alumni, professionals, and companies creating market-driven approaches for social impact.

Nashville Immersion, 2018
The Nashville Immersion gave 25 students and professors a trip through Nashville that you do not get as a tourist. They visited neighborhoods that are experiencing rapid gentrification resulting from Nashville’s development boom, and witnessed how family homes are being turned over into condos and the effects of rising costs have on decades-old residents.
Nashville Immersion 2021: Murfreesboro Pike
The Murfreesboro Road corridor is one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods of Nashville. Today, it is a mix of rapidly gentrifying areas, public and low-income housing, and industrial areas that are beginning to be developed.

The Immersion included visits to a variety of social enterprises, ranging from a community-run coffee shop focused on skills development for local youth to a farm working to become the leading producer of worm compost in the country. Students met with founders and leaders of these organizations to learn about how the unique models emerged and how they think about social impact in Nashville

West Alabama Immersion, 2018
